** SIP Update for Faith Communities **
Dear CSL Santa Cruz Community,
You may have heard that President Trump has reclassified churches and religious gatherings as essential services. On May 25th, Gov. Newsom issued guidance for faith communities that wish to open, and as of Tuesday midnight this goes into effect in Santa Cruz County as well. In short, we can open if we are ready.
The fact is we are not yet ready to receive our community safely. Your Board of Trustees is looking closely at this situation and we are still in the fact gathering stages. Gov. Newsom has 13 pages of mandated and recommended practices for Faith Communities to follow before they can open. There is a lot of information to digest. Please be patient with us as we work toward clarity. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me directly at email@example.com. I’ll do my best to answer them, but truth be told, we are building this plane as we fly it; know that your safety is our first concern.
We miss being together with you more than you know. We are looking at what small steps we can take to gather again, and once we know how to do that safely, you will be the first to know.
We love you!
Rev. Alice and the Board of Trustees
