Book Study Series
Me and White Supremacy
by Layla F. Saad
If you are wondering why we are structuring this journey as an affinity group for white people, it is because it is our responsibility to do this work. Please reference the resources below this email.
It is our full intention that this program will create a space to be honest without shame or judgment – an opportunity to learn and grow together. These sessions will not be recorded.

For CSL Members - Tuesday Evenings
5pm Pacific/6pm Mountain/7pm Central/8 pm Eastern
Beginning Aug. 4th and Ending Sept. 1, 2020
We are in a time of radical transformation, growth and potential in the history of the world and, in particular, the United States of America. Many have been asking the question “What can I do”? As a community of seekers and learners, we know that we can expand our awareness in support of the rising consciousness around racism and its impact on the lives of people of color.
To that end, the Minister, Practitioner and Member Councils have joined the Diversity Inclusion Commission supported by the CSL Licensing & Credentialing Dept., and the Spiritual Development Education Dept. to create the opportunity for a dialogue among our white and white identified community members.
Together, we will dive deeply into the heart of unconscious bias and racism to learn how we can make a difference at this pivotal time in history. We have selected the book, “me and white supremacy” by Layla Saad. The book is a reflective 28-day inward journey that will be supported by this five-session book study experience.
We hope that you will accept this invitation to do the personal work towards greater inclusion, allyship and healing in a supportive group environment.
Session facilitators include Rev. Sunday Cote, Rev. Rafe Ellis and Rev. Barbara Bue. They will be joined by representatives from each council to assist in a large group discussion and small group circles throughout each series.
